New Credential for Data Center Personnel
The Data Center Safety Council partnered with Certus to launch this first-of-its-kind training and certification to improve safety in these facilities — a critical program for infrastructure and data security.
Data Center Safety Awareness Certification was created to fill a need that key organizations in the data centers space identified: safety training that better fits the risks, training needs, and best practices of working in and maintaining data centers as the industry experiences explosive growth.
Digital transformations, along with the proliferation of AI in our professional and personal lives, have positioned data centers as the lifeblood of business AND leisure. Those working in data centers face unique risks that aren't addressed by standardized training, and data centers also must comply with a bevy of compliance organizations, not all of which require the same tactics.
This training was created to ensure the safety of any personnel who set foot on the data center floor.

Data Centers Are Experiencing Explosive Growth and New Problems

Rapid Growth
Rapid growth means the risks are increasing: new employees, evolving safety best practices, and fewer veterans to increase the average experience level.

Out of the Box Training
Out of the box general industry training doesn't cover many of the risks unique to these environments — it is just not that relevant.

Knowledge Doesn't Connect
When knowledge doesn't connect directly to your day-to-day tasks, it's harder to know how to apply the safety best practices you learn.

Confusing Regulations
Data centers may face compliance challenges from OSHA, NFPA, HSE, CCOS, MOM, and more.

Unseasoned Workforce
Many new hires may be on site without experience and adequate safety training: those green employees may increase risks — especially when it comes to human error.

Procedures Aren't Standardized
When procedures aren't standardized, the risks to health and life increase. This fundamentally makes workers less safe than they should be.

Current Training Isn't Enough
Current training just isn't enough. Training doesn't satisfy the needs or cover all the risks of those working in these environments.

Bevy of Standards
Trying to stay in compliance with this bevy of standards can lead to inconsistency with procedures and best practices — and ultimately puts your team's safety on shaky ground.
